The Steinbeck Innovation Foundation serves as a liaison between researchers, funders and real-world users of cutting edge technology in the agricultural sector. The Foundation actively facilitates partnerships between leading sustainability scientists at Arizona State University (ASU), Moss Landing Marine Laboratories, Cal State Monterey Bay (CSUMB), UC Santa Cruz, and the Stanford Design School.
Together, these innovators are working to address some of the most urgent environmental and economic challenges facing the Salinas Valley, such as water scarcity and nitrate pollution, through real-time remote sensing and other “smart farm” innovations.
